Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
½ onion, minced
1 bell pepper, chopped small
1 jalapeno, chopped small
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
½ tsp crushed red pepper (more or less depending on how spicy you want it)
Green onions (optional for topping)
Directions
- In a large skillet, brown beef on medium heat, mixing and breaking apart into small pieces along the way
- Once cooked through, drain the excess grease. Add the minced onion, chopped bell pepper, and chopped jalapeno to the skillet. Mix and continue cooking until fragrant
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and red pepper until well blended
- Pour the marinade onto the beef. Mix and continue cooking for additional 5 minutes, allowing the marinade to soak through the beef
- Serve over a bowl of white rice and top with a fried egg if desired!
